My fantasy house would be old, Victorian. If it had to be big it would be high, three stories and an attic, full of nooks and crannies whose original purpose had grown obsolete -- slave quarters and tackle rooms, root cellars and smokehouses, dumbwaiters and widow's walks. A house that was falling to bits, that dripped history as it dropped slates, that cried out for fiddly Saturday repairs to its rickety balustrade, while the fragrant waft of pies cooling on counters drifted upstairs. I'd furnish it with secondhand sofas whose floral upholstery was faded and frayed, garage-sales drapes with tasseled tiebacks, ornate mahogany sideboards with speckled looking glass. Beside the porch swing, struggling geraniums would spindle out of an old tin milking pail. No one would frame our ragged quilts or auction them off as rare early American patterns worth thousands; we'd throw them on the bed and wear them out. Like wool gathering lint, the house would seen to accumulate junk of its own accord: a bicycle with worn brake shoes and a flat tire; straight-backs whose dowel rods need regluing; an old corner cabinet of good wood but painted a hideous bright blue, which I keep saying I'm going to strip down and never do.

Black Saturday was nice. i came back from tuition and hurried about in flustered sweat. then i realised that i still had a long time more, so i grabbed We Need To Talk About Kevin and slurped my noodles down.

then i tried cooling myself down while frantically messaging sze and jacq, hoping to get some information about where we were meeting. after that was done, i went to put my outfit together. as always, i didn't stick to what i had in mind. in the end, i ended up looking dreary and monotonous with shades of black, white and grey. i sat myself down and stared at my mirror reflection, distraught at my disobedient hair. in the end, i just pulled everything back messily and secured it with my black-and-white band.

outfit all done, i went poking around in my room for accessories. i found necklaces which i had bought but haven't worn, so i took the most suitable one and hung it around my neck. caught sight of my little black heart gemstones and stuck them through my earholes. pursed my lips and wondered if perfume was going overboard, but i rubbed them onto my wrists anyway. you can barely smell them.

the meeting with jacq at holland village was half an hour away, but i couldn't make myself read another page of We Need To Talk About Kevin. so my eyes travelled anti clock-wise around my room and stopped at my eyeliner. "hmmmm."

the next thing i know, i was back in front of the mirror and winking at myself. i thought a little eyeliner on the upperlid wouldn't hurt, since you can hardly see them anyway. my single eyelids ate up the eyeliner once i open my eyes again. despite the eyeliner being invisible, i felt like my eyes were smoky and sophisticated. hohoho.

then time to go! my father agreed to send me to holland v, but after dropping my sister off at her tuition center for the first time ever. it started drizzling when i got off the car at holland v, but i saw jacq soonafter and we pondered on what dinner we should get. we both weren't very hungry, so jacq decided on Delifrance- light and healthy. we got little tarts and a Caesar salad. paid then left for Frolick. i got a free badge! peach with strawberries; yumm.

had to meet sze at the bus stop opposite the road, so we braved the heavy rain under a small pink umbrella and cursed the weather. finally diving under the shelter of the bus, we tried drying ourselves. a small light blue car pulled up soon enough and we all made our way to jacq's church!

it was a long drive, but made even longer because of the weather. when we reached, the three of us made a beeline for the toilets. we waited around thirty minutes for the programme to start. then we had to queue, but gave up our queue position because nicole wasn't here yet. when she finally came, we grabbed a copy of the programme booklet and climbed up three fleets of stairs.

the performance was, once again, absolutely captivating and wonderful. the gunshots scared me though, and every time i saw Isa coming out to hunt for believers, i broke eye contact and stuffed my fingers into my ears. the dancers were great too. :D

after the performance, we lingered around for a short while before the second performance started again. jacq, sze, nicole and I were shut out because we weren't priority. there was a big group of audience waiting to watch the show, so we were kicked out. we were hungry, but didn't want to go for supper yet, so we crossed two big roads to Shell. "if i can't find a job in the future, i can be a traffic police!" haha. jacq bought Hello Panda, sze bought Clods and nicole had Coco Crunch. i leeched off them.

after crossing back the two roads, jacq gave us a small tour of her church. we went down to the basement, where we played around with drums. i can play! after deciding that i looked like a poor beggar scrounging around in a storeroom ( we were indeed in a storeroom), we left in search of the playground.

it was all wet, so i couldn't play the swings. we took loads of pictures though! on the swings, on the stairs, on the bridge. :D then it got slightly tiring walking around, so we sat down on tiny little kindergarten chairs and waited for the second performance to end. people started streaming out after a while and jacq wanted to go up to greet her other friends. we took the lift this time.

everybody was cleaning up and having so much fun in the meantime. jacq caught up with her other church friends while me and sze watched the cleaning up process. melissa then came over to say hi to us, which was awfully nice of her. two people identified sze as "oh! you mean, that choi?" when introduced officially. haha, it was funny. took a long time to finally gather everybody, but in the end, daryl, tim, renee, nicole, melissa, andrew, daniel, another nicole, jo, jacq, sze and i went.

to simpang. which me and sze mistook for 'seng kang'. for the longest time, me and sze were like "where's seng kang", "we've never been to seng kang before!" and even told our parents that we were in seng kang. hahaha. many had prata. me sze and jacq ordered milo dinosaur and tissue prata to share, but the tissue prata didn't come in the end. so it was just the milo dinosaur.

it was around 1130 when we finally got up and left. jacq, sze and me, the "bukit timah kids", got first priority to getting a cab and we were soon bidding goodbyes. cabbed to jacq's house and then jacq's mum sent me and sze back to our houses. aunty dora and jacq even came up with me to apologize to my parents. it was 0020 when i walked through the doors. my dad was pissed, though. he sorta grounded me. i hope he doesn't ban me from jacq's church, though! really really hope so.

yeah Black Saturday was fun. jacq introduced us to more people this time. i'm seriously considering going to jacq's church. i like it there because everybody's so close and fun. but i'm scared i can't fit in well. ohwell. no use fretting over it now. yeah.

ugh. bio SPA, emath test on vectors and standard deviation, lit test.
after today, i will jump for joy and scream HALLELUJAH. because i plan on getting my contacts on wednesday, after school. :D:D

oh, and julia looks fabulous with her new specs! i love love love it. too bad i don't have to change specs, or i'll get cool plastic black rectangular-framed specs too. cute nerd!

hm, okay. i'm all sweaty, but waiting for my turn to bathe. in the meantime, TOTALLY SPIES!
